Josh Daniel scored 17 and Eastern Kentucky held off Tennessee-Martin 77-69 on Saturday night.

The Colonels (4-4, 1-1 Ohio Valley Conference) led 38-18 at halftime and endured a 51-39 second half in favor of the Skyhawks (2-6, 0-2).

Tennessee-Martin turned the ball over 19 times, including 11 in the first half. Eastern Kentucky had eight of its 11 steals before halftime.

Justin Stommes and Spencer Perrin scored 15 points each for the Colonels.

The Skyhawks made just 4 of 18 from the field in the first half (22.2 percent), but shot 56.7 percent in the second (17 of 30).

Tennessee-Martin trailed by 21, 52-31, before outscoring the Colonels 26-8 over the next 8:34 to pull within three. Benzor Simmons' free throws brought the Skyhawks within 60-57 with 4:12 to play, but they didn't get any closer.

Simmons finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
