Dunn headed to Providence

Kris Dunn, ranked by Scout.com as the top point guard in the class of 2012, committed to Providence College Wednesday.
The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Dunn had recently narrowed his list to Providence and fellow Big East member Connecticut. He was being recruited by assistant coach Andre LaFleur, who left UConn for Providence in April.
Over the past year Dunn has grown as a prospect. He made his way into Scout.com's top 100 in the spring and catapulted up the rankings to No. 27 overall after an impressive July.
The New London, Conn., native has terrific size for the lead guard position, is an impressive all around athlete and is among the better passers in the 2012 class.
Providence, which fired coach Keno Davis and replaced him with Ed Cooley after back-to-back losing seasons, now has a pair of 2012 commitments in Dunn and Hampton, Va., shooting guard Josh Fortune.
