Detroit ekes by Northeastern, 76-73

DETROIT (AP) Josh McFolley scored 20 points, including 4 of 6 from 3-point range, to help lead Detroit to a 76-73 victory over Northeastern on Saturday.

After Zach Stahl hit a jumper to give Northeastern a 69-68 lead with 2:52 left, Detroit (3-3) scored eight of the game's final 12 points to seal the victory. McFolley hit a trey on the subsequent possession which put the Titans back in the lead at 71-69. Detroit then hit 5 of 6 at the free throw line to close it out.

Northeastern (6-2) had two chances to tie in the final 15 seconds but Jeremy Miller and Quincy Ford each missed 3-pointers.

Chris Jenkins scored 14 points and added six rebounds for Detroit, Gerald Blackshear finished with 12 points.

David Walker led Northeastern with 29 points. Stahl added 17 points.
