UCLA forward David Wear sprained his right ankle during practice Sunday.
A team spokesman says the junior will have an X-ray and will be reevaluated Monday. Wear averaged 10.2 points and 6.3 rebounds while starting 30 of 32 games for the Bruins last season.
UCLA opens the season Nov. 9 against Indiana State.
