Daniel, Miller lead Howard past UMBC 68-54.

BALTIMORE (AP) James Daniel scored 19 points and James Miller added 18 to lead Howard to a 68-54 win over Maryland-Baltimore County on Tuesday night.
The Bison (3-3) limited the Retrievers (0-4) to 36 percent shooting, including 3 of 18 behind the arc, and had a 38-28 rebounding advantage.
UMBC only trailed by five at the half as Jourdan Grant, who finished with 10 points, knocked down two jumpers in the final minute, but the Retrievers made just 1 of 12 3-pointers in the second half. They got as close as four after the break but about 5 minutes in Daniel made a layup and a pair of free throws in a 6-0 surge and the Bison steadily pulled way.
Daniel went 8 of 11 from the foul line. Miller had five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Aaron Morgan had 13 points for UMBC.
