Curry, Kent lead hot-shooting JMU past Hofstra, 82-73

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Ron Curry had 20 points and a career-high 11 assists, Jackson Kent scored a career-best 20 on 7-of-10 shooting, and James Madison shot a season-high 63 percent from the field to beat Hofstra 83-72 Saturday.

Curry hit a career-high tying five 3-pointers on six attempts.

Yohanny Dalembert added 14 points for James Madison (19-12, 12-6 Colonial Athletic Association), which never trailed and made 27 of 43 field goals, including 10 of 17 (59 percent) from 3-point range.

The Dukes used an 18-3 run to close the first half and led 41-25 at the break.

Hofstra used a 20-4 run to pull within three on Ameen Tanksley's 3-pointer with 13:44 to play.

Back-to-back 3's by Jackson and Curry made it 66-55 with 9:03 remaining and the Pride (19-12, 10-8) trailed by at least nine the rest of the way.

Brian Bernardi led Hofstra with 22 points and Dion Nesmith added 14.
