Colorado State beats Montana 83-66

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) Daniel Bejarano had 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and Colorado State beat Montana 83-66 in the season opener for both teams on Saturday night.

Stanton Kidd led the Rams with 19 points, shooting 6 of 8 overall and 3 of 4 from 3-point range. Gian Clavell added 13 points, John Gillon scored 11 and J.J. Avila 10.

Colorado State opened on a 19-4 run, made seven of its first 10 3-pointers and extended the lead to 39-12 in the first 14 minutes. The Rams edged the Grizzlies 39-26 on the glass and recorded assists on 22 of their 27 field goals.

Montana battled back to a 51-30 halftime deficit and got no closer than 58-42 in the second half.

Jordan Gregory scored 17 points and Michael Weisner added 16 for the Grizzlies.
