Antwaine Wiggins scored a career-high 25 points to lead College of Charleston over Samford 68-52 in a Southern Conference game Monday night.

It was the first win for the Cougars (13-9, 5-6) in two games since Mark Byington became interim coach after Bobby Cremins took a medical leave of absence, and it ended their four-game losing streak.

The Bulldogs (7-14, 4-6) used a 16-4 run to lead 24-22 with 4:57 left in the first half, but Charleston answered with a 16-4 run of its own for a 38-28 halftime lead. Wiggins made three 3-pointers during that run and was 5 of 9 behind the arc in the game.

The Cougars, who have won all 12 of their games with Samford, never led by fewer than eight points in the second half.
