Coastal Carolina holds on to beat Radford 63-58

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Marcus Freeman scored 12 points and Coastal Carolina held on to beat Radford 63-58 on Sunday.

Freeman made 6 of 9 field goals. Jaylen Shaw scored 12 points, while Colton Ray-St Cyr and Badou Diagne added 10 points apiece for Coastal Carolina (4-4, 1-1 Big South).

Cameron Jones scored 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting to lead Radford (5-4, 1-1). Taj Owens had 10 points.

Jones made back-to-back 3-pointers to open the second half to put the Highlanders up 29-28. Freeman made a layup to spark a 20-7 run to give the Chanticleers a 50-38 lead midway through the second half. Freeman and Jaylen Shaw both scored six points during the stretch.

Owens scored five points and Brandon Holcomb had four to pull Radford to 61-58 with 42 seconds left. Shivaughn Wiggins made a pair of free throws and Ray-St Cyr forced a turnover to seal it.
