Coastal Carolina cruises past Columbia Int. 82-51

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Warren Gillis scored 15 points and had six assists to lead Coastal Carolina to an 82-51 win over Columbia International on Tuesday night.

Gillis reached double-digit scoring for the 24th consecutive game.

Elijah Wilson had 14 points, Marcus Freeman added 12 and had 10 rebounds, and Shivaughn Wiggins scored 10 for Coastal Carolina (2-1). The Chanticleers made 29 of 45 free throws, compared to 12 of 21 for the Rams.

Kindrick Anderson scored 17 points for Columbia International, a National Christian College Athletic Association member. The Rams were held to 17 of 51 (33 percent) and were outrebounded 50-27.

Coastal Carolina went on a 19-0 run in the first half to help build a 45-28 lead at halftime. Then the Chanticleers held Columbia International to two field goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half to build a 61-36 lead.
