D'Aundray Brown scored a career-high 24 points and added nine rebounds and seven steals to lead Cleveland State to an 86-57 win over Rio Grande on Tuesday night.

Jeremy Montgomery added six points, becoming the 19th player in school history to reach 1,000 career points.

The Vikings (2-0), coming off a stunning 71-58 upset of No. 7 Vanderbilt, were tied with the NAIA RedStorm (4-2) at 17-17, then closed out the first half with a 23-10 run.

Cleveland State blocked 11 shots, one short of equaling the school record of 12 set against Central State on Nov. 22, 2003.

The Vikings won the only other meeting between the schools 40-35 in 1933.

Trey Harmon added 14 points for Cleveland State, Tim Kamczyc scored 13 and Anton Grady had 12 points, seven rebounds and six blocks.

Jermaine Warmack led Rio Grande with 24 points and Dominick Haynes had 12.
