Tanner Smith scored 10 of his 26 points in overtime to lead Clemson to an 83-75 victory over Southern Illinois in the Diamond Head Classic consolation semifinals Friday.

Rod Hall scored 18 points, Devin Booker added 16 and Andre Young had 11 points for Clemson (7-6). The Tigers made 15 of 17 free throws in overtime. Smith's three-point play with 1:59 left in the extra period put Clemson ahead to stay.

Southern Illinois (3-7) led 62-59 with 11.3 seconds to play in regulation following Davante Drinkard's free throw, but Clemson's Rod Hall made a driving layup with 3.8 seconds left and converted the free throw to tie it at 62 after he was fouled on the play.

Mamadou Seck had a chance to win it for SIU in regulation, but missed a 3-point try as time expired.

On Sunday, Clemson will face Hawaii in the fifth-place game, and Southern Illinois will play No. 14 Xavier for seventh place. Hawaii beat Xavier 84-82 in overtime.
