Saah Nimley had 23 points and 12 assists to lead Charleston Southern to an 88-81 win over Stetson on Wednesday night.
Cedric Bowen added 17 points, Kelvin Martin had 16, Sheldon Strickland 14 and Arlon Harper 11 for the Buccaneers (7-4), who hit 51.5 percent (34 of 66) from the field.
The Hatters (4-6) led by 13 points in the first half and 40-37at the break.
Trailing 68-60 with 11:26 to play, Charleston Southern went on a 15-2 run to take the lead for good. Martin's layup capped the surge to give the Buccaneers a 75-70 advantage with 7:08 left. The Buccaneers then hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final minute to seal it.
Chris Perez scored a career-high 23 points, Joel Naburgs added 14 and Willie Green had 10 for Stetson, which has lost three in a row and five of its past six.
