David Hanson scored a career-high 29 points and made six 3-pointers, and Shawn Lewis added 20 points to lead Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo to a 77-61 victory against Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday night.
Maliik Love added 11 points for the Mustangs (9-11), who shot 70 percent (14 of 20) from the floor in the second half.
Alex Johnson and Donavan Bragg scored 16 points each for the Roadrunners (9-12).
Cal Poly led 45-41 with 10:48 remaining when Lewis - after being held scoreless to that point - scored his team's next nine points to increase the advanatge to 54-45 with 8:14 remaining. The Mustangs maintained that cushion for the rest of the way and padded it with 10 free throws in the final 2:30.
