Matt Titchenal scored a career-high 16 points to help Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo beat San Jose State 47-40 on Saturday night.
Will Taylor added 10 rebounds and eight points for the Mustangs (6-3), who have won four of their last five games. It was second time this season they beat the Spartans (3-7). Cal Poly won the season-opener 79-52 at home.
Keith Shamburger scored 19 points and matched his career-high with seven rebounds as San Jose State lost its third straight.
Shamburger, who made all 10 of his foul shots, brought the Spartans within 39-37 with 4:31 remaining. San Jose State was 3 of 23 from the field in the second half and missed its final 14 attempts.
