Butler's Nored questionable for Duke

Butler point guard Ronald Nored won’t play in Wednesday’s Horizon League opener against Loyola (Ill.) and is questionable Saturday against Duke due to a concussion.

Butler coach Brad Stevens confirmed the news to FOXSports.com.

Nored, a key cog in Butler reaching the national title game a year ago, suffered the injury early in last Tuesday's game against Siena when he bumped heads with an opposing player in the opening minute while going for a loose ball.

"He’s not going to play Wednesday,” Stevens said "And it’s undetermined when he’ll be back. He’s day-to-day.”

Stevens said he won’t bring Nored back until he’s clearly 100 percent and that may mean his floor leader sits out Saturday’s rematch of last year’s national championship contest in New Jersey.

"Obviously, he’s a really, really important part of our team,” Stevens said. "But his health is more important, and we want to make sure he’s right.”

Butler has gotten off to a 3-2 start with losses coming at Louisville and in a shocker Saturday against Evansville at home.

Nored didn’t play in the overtime loss to Evansville.
