Byron Mulkey scored 19 points to lead four Buffalo players in double figures and the Bulls defeated Niagara 82-64 on Wednesday night.

Buffalo (5-3) shot 58.1 percent from the field (18 of 31) in the first half to take a 41-30 halftime lead over the Purple Eagles (2-7). The Bulls also outrebounded Niagara 41-31 and had 11 steals, including five from Mulkey, who entered the game leading the nation at 4.1 a contest.

Mulkey was 5 for 12 from the field, but went 8 for 9 from the free throw line go with five rebounds and four assists.

Kashief Edwards led Niagara with 18 points, reaching double figures for the seventh time in nine games, but he was only 8 for 21 from the field.

The Purple Eagles shot 24 of 61 from the field (39.3 percent).

Jawaan Alston added 16 points, Zach Filzen scored 14 points and Mitchell Watt had 11 points and nine rebounds for Buffalo.
