Bryant hits game-winner; Savannah St. beats Coppin St. 73-70

BALTIMORE (AP) Demarcus Bryant hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 2.4 seconds left to give Savannah State a 73-70 victory over Coppin State on Monday night.

Taariq Cephas made a basket with 1:43 left to cut Coppin State's deficit to 69-67. After Savannah State's Alante Fenner went 1 of 2 from the line, Jahvari Josiah hit two free throws to pull CSU within 70-69 with 1:24 left and Dallas Gary hit 1 of 2 free throws with 32 seconds left to tie it at 70-all.

Brian Pearson scored 17 points to lead Savannah State (6-17, 2-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Saadiq Muhammad added 10.

SSU finished the first half on a 7-0 run for a 41-34 lead after hitting seven 3-pointers and shooting 66.7 percent overall.

Sterling Smith led Coppin State (5-19, 4-7) with 27 points. He was 8 of 10 from the field, including 6 of 7 from distance, and hit 5 of 6 free throws.
