Bradley gets by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 52-38
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) Ka'Darryl Bell scored 12 points and Jermaine Morgan had 10 to lead Bradley to a 52-38 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic on Tuesday night.
Bradley (2-2), which held a slim 22-15 lead at the half, scored six unanswered points to open the second period and was up 47-31 with 5:39 left in the game. The Islanders' Bryce Douvier hit a 3-point jumper to close to 47-38 with 3:29 remaining, but A&M-Corpus Christi could not get another bucket after that.
Neither team had a hot hand as Bradley made just 15 of 42 attempts (35.7%) while limiting the Islanders to 13 of 44 (29.5%). The Braves made 19 of 28 free throws with the Islanders hitting 10 of 15 attempts from the line.
John Jordan led A&M-Corpus Christi (2-2) with 14 points.
Bradley will play TCU and the Islanders face Mississippi Valley on Friday.
