Boston U hangs on to beat Colgate 76-74

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) Dom Morris scored 16 points to lead Boston University in a 76-74 victory over Colgate on Wednesday night.

Boston University (18-8, 11-2 Patriot) trailed by three points after Colgate (9-15, 3-10) closed out the first half on an 8-0 run. The Terriers opened up the second half with 11-straight points to charge ahead by eight, the largest lead yet, and went on to lead by as many as 12 with 8:26 left to play.

The Raiders hit three 3's in the final minutes, but couldn't overcome Boston University's scoring streak. Both teams shot above 50 percent from the floor.

Murphy Burnatowski led the Raiders with 27 points after shooting 8 of 14 from the field.

The Terriers entered the game tied for first-place with American University in the Patriot League. Boston University was able to close in on first place after American dropped a 63-60 contest against Colgate on Saturday.
