Boston U cruises over Lafayette 88-54

BOSTON (AP) Justin Alston scored 17 points and D.J. Irving had 16 as Boston U cruised past Lafayette 88-54 Saturday.

Boston U (17-8, 10-2 Patriot League) used a big run in the first half en route to a 42-23 halftime lead and continued to roll in the second half, earning its sixth consecutive season of at least 10 wins in conference action.

With an early 8-5 lead, the Terriers put together a 23-3 run, making 10 of 16 field goals during the stretch. Boston U shot 56 percent from the field and connected on 11 of 25 3-point attempts in the contest.

Maurice Watson Jr. had 12 points and eight assists for the Terriers. John Papale added 11 points.

Seth Hinrichs led Lafayette (6-17, 2-10) with 19 points and nine rebounds. The Leopards were held well below their season average of 71.9 points per game and committed 20 turnovers.
