Robert Arnold scored 22 points to lead Boise State to a 65-52 victory over Denver Saturday night.

Arnold was 6 of 10 from the field and has scored 20 points or more three times this season, matching his total for 20-point games from all of last season.

Arnold's hot hand has helped the Broncos (5-0) get off to their best start since opening 6-0 in 1997-98.

After trailing early, Boise State took control midway through the first half and led by as many as 13 points five minutes before the half. Denver cut the lead to seven twice in the second half, but each time the Broncos responded and rebuilt a double-digit lead.

Denver's Chase Hallam led all scorers with 26 points. The Pioneers (1-5) outshot Boise State, hitting 45.9 percent compared to the Broncos' 41.5 percent.

But the Bronco defense forced 17 turnovers, had seven steals and scored 24 points off Pioneer miscues.
