Bethune-Cookman 61, Delaware St. 60

C.J. Reed nailed two free throws with 7 seconds left on the clock to lift Bethune-Cookman to a 61-60 win over Delaware State on Saturday night.
The Wildcats (9-8, 4-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 60-59 after two free throws from Marques Oliver with 1:12 left put Delaware State in front.
Bethune-Cookman led 31-25 at halftime and throughout the second half despite allowing the Hornets to shoot 13 for 23 from the floor (56.5 percent) after the break.
Alexander Starling and Garrius Holloman each scored 18 to lead the Wildcats, who shot 52.1 percent from the floor (25 of 48) and 9 of 11 from the free-throw line (81.8 percent) en route to their fourth straight victory.
Jay Threatt had 17 points and seven rebounds, Oliver added 15 points and Desi Washington 12 for the Hornets (6-9, 2-1), who were outscored in the paint 38-14.
