Bentil lifts No. 23 Providence past Rhode Island, 74-72

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) Ben Bentil tipped in Kris Dunn's missed shot at the buzzer to give No. 23 Providence a 74-72 victory over Rhode Island on Saturday night.
The officials briefly reviewed the play before running the shot counted.
Bentil finished with 23 points and eight rebounds to help the Friars (8-1) beat the Rams (5-3) for the sixth straight time. Rodney Bullock added 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, and Dunn had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Rhode Island tied it at 72 on Jared Terrell's jumper with 7 seconds remaining.
Terrell led the Rams with 19 points. Jarvis Garrett added 17 points and seven rebounds, and Hassan Martin had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Providence: Bentil has led Providence in scoring in four of the last five games.
Rhode Island: The Rams are 13-93 against Top 25 teams. Their last win came in November 2014 when they beat then-No. 21 Nebraska 66-62 in overtime in Kingston.
