Jarrod Jones scored 16 points and Ball State held on to beat Tennessee Tech 59-55 Saturday, the seventh straight loss for the Golden Eagles. The Cardinals (12-13) led by as many as 13 points in the first half, taking a 32-19 lead at the break, before a 9-2 run at the start of the second period brought Tennessee Tech (11-17) back into the game. The Golden Eagles closed within two points several times in the final minutes, the last at 56-54 on a basket by Elijah Muhammad with 19 seconds remaining. The Cardinals iced the victory with a free throw by Laron Frazier and a basket by Brandon Lampley in the final 6 seconds. Frazier finished with 14 points and Lampley added 11 for Ball State, which shot only 29 percent for the game. Tennessee Tech was led by Daniel Northern with 11 points, the only player in double figures. Muhammad, Frank Davis and Will Barnes added 8 points each.
