Brandon Peterson scored 19 points and Martavius Adams added 18 as Arkansas State pulled away from Savannah State in the second half for a 68-55 victory Monday night.

The Red Wolves (4-7) shot just 38.8 percent but made up for it with 29 offensive rebounds, which led to 19 second-chance points. The Tigers had only 21 rebounds overall.

Preston Blackmon scored 19 points to lead Savannah State (1-13), which has lost 13 straight.

Arkansas State trailed by 12 in the first half before taking a 33-31 advantage into halftime. The Red Wolves slowly built their lead to as many as 16 in the second half with strong inside play. They outscored the Tigers 28-18 in the paint and finished with 44 rebounds.
