After the Arkansas win over Mount St. Mary’s, that others and myself called “uninspired” and “brutally boring”, the Razorbacks move on to Stephen F. Austin.

As a whole thus far, Arkansas hasn’t been playing too poorly by any means this season. It’s the team basically trying to figure out how to play together creating a game that is almost unbearable to sit through. There’s a lot of new scorers on this team causing a bit of an identity issue from some players like Kingsley.

Hopefully, Arkansas can use this game against the 2-2 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks to start working on finding an identity as a team. Moses Kingsley, who is the Preseason SEC Player of the Year, has got to find his role within a group of perimeter assassin guards. Rather than taking 15-foot jump shots, Moses needs to find his home down low.

The most challenging game for the Lumberjacks as of yet was a season opener at Rupp Arena to face Kentucky. The Wildcats beat Stephen F. Austin by 23 which, to be honest, is not all that bad for the Lumberjacks. Their only other loss thus far came by way of Louisiana Monroe in which they only lost by 5.

In his preview of the matchup, head coach Mike Anderson said that the Lumberjacks lost a lot from last year but that they still have postseason DNA. S.F.A.’s TJ Holyfield, Ivan Canete, and Dallas Cameron are all averaging double-digit points per game. Leading scorer Holyfield and Canete are both averaging .500 or better from beyond the arc.

Anderson also said that this game was about getting better and that he wants to see defensive improvement. One thing he is currently pleased with is the quality players and depth. Because of that, expect the same starting lineup as last game. Tipoff is at 8:00 p.m. at B.W.A. and will be televised on the SEC Network as well as streamed on WatchESPN here. Also, get your butts in those seats! Woo Pig!
