Appalachian State-Tennessee Tech game canceled

Tuesday night's men's basketball contest between Appalachian State and Tennessee Tech was canceled when the visiting team failed to supply officials for the game.

It will not be made up this season because the teams were unable to find a date on which they'd both be available to play. Tennessee Tech played at Appalachian State in an ESPNU BracketBuster game last season and Appalachian State was to return the favor Tuesday.

One of the key provisions of the BracketBusters format is that the visiting conference brings its officials to counter home-court advantage.

Appalachian State athletics director Charlie Cobb issued an apology, stating, ''It is unusual for a visiting team to provide game officials, but we have played in BracketBusters before and this miscommunication should not have occurred.''
