Anderson scores career-high 21 in UT Martin's 69-52 victory

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Alex Anderson made four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points while Twymond Howard added 19 and UT Martin beat Tennessee State 69-52 on Thursday night.

Deville Smith grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds for the Skyhawks (18-10, 10-5 Ohio Valley), who made 24 of 46 shots for 52.2 percent and had a 38-26 advantage on the boards.

Jay Harris made four 3-pointers in scoring 18 points and Darreon Reddick hit three more shots from the arc in adding 13 points for the Tigers (5-25, 2-13), who shot just 34.6 percent, though making half of their 16 3-point attempts.

Tennessee State's Christian Mekowulu tied the game at 34 with a basket to open the second half but the Skyhawks then ran off 11 unanswered points and led the rest of the way. The lead reached 19 points with two minutes left.
