John Schoof scored a career-high 18 points to help American beat Colgate 82-54 on Saturday in both teams' conference opener.

Charles Hinkle added 21 points for the Eagles (10-6, 1-0 Patriot League), who are 6-0 in home games this season.

Nick Pascale had 11 points for the Raiders (5-10, 0-1), who extended their losing streak to five games and suffered their worst loss since a 92-47 defeat at then No. 5 Syracuse on Nov. 19.

The Raiders haven't won on the road since a season-opening 78-74 victory at Binghamton on Nov. 12, and are 0-14 all time at American's Bender Arena.

The Eagles shot 60 percent from the floor before halftime (18-for-30) and 53 percent overall (31 of 58) to surpass their season high in scoring.

American led 44-19 at halftime after closing the first half on an 18-0 run capped by Mike Bresch's back-to-back 3-pointers, both off Daniel Munoz's assists.
