Charles Hinkle scored 18 points and American University shot 67.9 percent from the field in the second half to defeat Army 74-50 Saturday and sweep the season series.
Leading 30-25 at intermission, the Eagles (18-9, 9-3 Patriot League) outscored the Black Knights 44-25 in the second half. American made 19 of 28 field goals compared to 8 of 23 for Army (34.8 percent).
Tony Wroblicky and Troy Brewer added 10 points apiece for the Eagles, who shot 60.4 percent for the game (32 of 53), and Daniel Munoz chipped in eight points and 10 assists.
Black Knights junior Ella Ellis scored 16 points to become the 28th Army player to score 1,000 career points.
The Black Knights, who lost to American 67-55 on Jan. 21, shot just 32.7 percent (16 of 49). From long range, Army was only 3 of 21 (14.3 percent), 0 of 9 in the second half.
