Albany (NY) 88, Hartford 63

Gerardo Suero scored 24 points to lead Albany (N.Y.) over Hartford 88-63 on Monday night in the America East Conference opener for both teams.
Suero, the AEC Player of the Week, was 9 of 14 from the field in improving upon his 22 points per game, which ranked fourth nationally.
The Great Danes (9-6) also improved on their offensive stats, after ranking second in the league in scoring (72.3 points per game) and field goal percentage (44.5 percent) coming in.
Albany shot 55.9 percent against the Hawks (0-13), picking up 40 points in the paint and 25 off of 15 turnovers.
Logan Aronhalt added 17 points, Mike Black 15 and Luke Devlin 10 for the Great Danes, who have won four of their last five games.
Hartford was led by Andres Torres with 13 points, Wes Cole with 12 and Yolonzo Moore II with 11.
