Alabama A&M holds off Prairie View 67-55

NORMAL, Ala. (AP) Justan Banks scored 17 points and had four blocks to lead Alabama A&M to a 67-55 victory over Prairie View A&M Monday evening.

Green Hill had 11 points and six assists and Jeremy Crutcher added 10 points for Alabama A&M (8-11, 5-4 Southwestern Athletic Conference).

Alabama A&M held a 27-21 halftime lead, but the Panthers fought back to take a 34-33 lead with 12:01 remaining following a jump shot by Louis Munks. Jose Long answered with three-point play to retake the lead. The Bulldogs had a 15-7 run to lead 51-41 with 3:57 left. Prairie View did close to 51-47 following a jumper by John Brisco and a dunk and layup by Demondre Chapman, but could get no closer.

Chapman had 17 points and seven rebounds and Brisco totaled 16 points for Prairie View (6-15, 4-5).
