Haye and Chisora to fight in July

Warring British boxers David Haye and Dereck Chisora will go head-to-head in London on July 14 in a fight sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation.

The two heavyweights were involved in an ugly brawl at a news conference in Munich in February after Chisora had just lost his world-title fight with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko.

Neither of the fighters holds a current British Boxing Board of Control license.

Chisora's license was withdrawn in March following his involvement in a number of controversial incidents before and after his title challenge in the Olympiahalle fight.

Haye officially retired last October, three months after losing his WBA title to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg, Germany.

At a news conference Tuesday at east London's Upton Park, they were separated by a seven-foot (2.1m) fence as the two exchanged insults.

Haye told Sky Sports, "He is the ideal opponent for me. I am so glad he has got a good chin because if he didn't have a good chin, he would be blasted out in first round. This means I will give him a nice, slow, concussive beating. I tried to knock him out in Munich, and this is the opportunity to shut him up."

Chisora, flanked by eight security guards, said, "I don't like him. David, you need to get style. Your cornrows are out of fashion. Talk is cheap now. That was a lucky shot he hit me with in Munich. Your talk is cheap. You always talk, but you don't deliver in the ring."

Chisora's promoter Frank Warren insisted that he was not undermining the British Boxing Board of Control by going to Luxembourg for the fight's license and said it would be the biggest bout of the year in the UK.

"This is not the end of British boxing," Warren said. "I believe it will be a sellout, a huge event. There are far, far worse things happening in sport than what's happening here."
