Impact Fletcher lost his spot on the 40-man roster prior to Opening Day but will stick around in the White Sox organization after going unclaimed off waivers. The 27-year-old outfielder struggled mightily during his time at the big-league level in 2024, slashing .206/.252/.256 with a 4.7 percent walk rate and 24.2 percent strikeout rate over 240 plate appearances.

Impact Gilbert began the season on the injured list with left knee bursitis but is ready to pitch in games again. He is eligible for activation April 11 and should be ready to serve in a long relief role at that time, barring setbacks.

Impact Barring a setback, Rojas should be ready for activation from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday. The veteran infielder is working his way back from a hairline fracture in his right big toe and is in line to serve as the White Sox' regular second baseman in 2025.

Mike Tauchman - Starting rehab assignment Tauchman (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Impact Tauchman is working his way back from a mid-March right hamstring strain. He is eligible for activation Friday and it would appear he should be ready to go then if he can avoid setbacks. Tauchman is projected for regular starts in right field against right-handed pitching.

Nick Maton - Sitting against righty Maton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Impact While serving as Chicago's designated hitter in final two games of the team's season-opening series versus the Angels, Maton went 1-for-6 with a solo home run. Though he'll head to the bench Monday while the Twins send a right-hander (Chris Paddack) to the mound, the lefty-hitting Maton could end up playing against righties more often than not if he's able to build on his outstanding spring training. Despite attending camp as a non-roster invitee, Maton earned his way onto the White Sox's Opening Day squad by turning in a .989 OPS over 19 Cactus League games.

Brooks Baldwin - On bench for series opener Baldwin is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Impact Baldwin had picked up starts in both of the White Sox's previous two matchups with right-handed pitchers, going 2-for-7 at the dish. Though he'll find himself out of the lineup in Monday's series opener versus Twins righty Chris Paddack, Baldwin's standing as a switch hitter who's capable of playing multiple spots in the infield and outfield should allow him to continue seeing at least semi-regular playing time.

Jacob Amaya - Settling in as everyday shortstop Amaya will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Twins.
Impact Amaya has now started at shortstop in each of the White Sox's first four games, but he has yet to do much with the opportunity. In the White Sox's season-opening series versus the Angels, Amaya went 1-for-8 with three strikeouts while slotting in as the No. 8 hitter in each of those contests. Even if the White Sox continue to give him an extended run in an everyday role, Amaya -- who owns a .402 OPS over 89 career big-league plate appearances -- can probably be ignored outside of AL-only formats until he performs well enough to warrant more attention.

Impact Chicago granted Altavilla his release last Tuesday after informing him he wouldn't be included on the Opening Day roster, and after briefly exploring his options in free agency, the right-hander ultimately decided to return to the White Sox organization. He reported to Triple-A Charlotte and struck out a batter over 1.2 perfect innings of relief Sunday in the affiliate's 9-6 win over Gwinnett.
