Updated: Mar 11, 2026 - 1:22 AM ET
Italy secured a history-stamping victory over team USA.
Italy jumped out to a five-run lead and extended that advantage to eight. USA slowly chipped into that deficit as Pete Crow-Armstrong delivered a pair of home runs. In the end, Italy held on led by home runs from Kyle Teel, Jac Caglianone and Sam Antonacci. Rockies pitcher Michael Lorenzen earned the win while pitching 4.2 scoreless innings.
After the defeat, Team USA must hope Italy beats Mexico for it to advance out of Pool B.
