Arlington started strong with a strong 45-yard kickoff return, but it didn't take long for the first turnover of the game to occur. The Stallions recovered a fumble after a hard hit on Renegades QB Luis Perez during the first drive of the game.
Hollywood star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who is part of the league's ownership group, got things started Saturday!
Multiple stars were in attendance at Choctaw Stadium ahead of Saturday's game, including Colorado head coach and NFL legend Deion Sanders, who was spotted with his former Dallas Cowboys teammate Troy Aikman.
Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey was also in the house to support his former team.
Saturday's game features a ton of star power, including Renegades QB Luis Perez, the catalyst who helped ignite Arlington's extraordinary run to an XFL title last year. Perez leads FOX Sports' 2024 UFL MVP candidates heading into Week 1, while Stallions QB Matt Corral — a former third-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2022, is also on that list.
Meanwhile, Stallions RB CJ Marable headlines the top offensive players to watch this season, along with teammate TE Jace Sternberger — an All-USFL selection last season who spent time with the NFL's Buffalo Bills in training camp last year — and Renegades TE Sal Cannella, the team's leading receiver last season.
On the other side, UFL Defensive Player of the Year candidates include Stallions CB Mark Gilbert, who led the USFL in interceptions last season, and teammate LB Kyahva Tezino, who earned All-USFL honors last season. The XFL's leader in interceptions last year, Renegades CB Ajene Harris, also checks in on that list.
Here are five things to watch out for in Week 1 and the 2024 UFL championship odds ahead of kickoff.
