Minor leads SIU-Edwardsville past S. Indiana in OVC opener

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Damarco Minor had 27 points in SIU-Edwardsville's 68-54 win over Southern Indiana on Wednesday in the first round of an Ohio Valley Conference tournament game.

Minor shot 7 for 15 (3 for 4 from 3-point range) and 10 of 13 from the free throw line for the Cougars (19-13). Jalen Hodge scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Shamar Wright scored 10.

Isaiah Swope finished with 15 points, Tyler Henry scored 11 and Jelani Simmons 10 for the Screaming Eagles (16-16).
