Leach scores 22 in Fairfield's 84-67 win against Rider

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Jalen Leach's 22 points helped Fairfield defeat Rider 84-67 on Thursday night.

Leach added seven rebounds and five assists for the Stags (14-9, 8-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Jasper Floyd scored 20 points while shooting 7 for 12 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line, and added five rebounds and three steals. Caleb Fields was 8 of 17 shooting (4 for 10 from 3-point range) to finish with 20 points.

The Broncs (8-15, 5-7) were led by Mervin James, who recorded 16 points. Corey McKeithan added 11 points and four assists for Rider. Allen Powell also had 11 points and six assists.
