Council has 28 in Wagner's 98-49 win against Gwynedd-Mercy

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Melvin Council Jr. scored 28 points as Wagner beat Gwynedd-Mercy 98-49 on Friday.

Council added seven rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals for the Seahawks (5-6, Northeast Conference). Julian Brown scored 19 points and made five 3-pointers. Di'Andre Howell-South was 6 of 12 shooting, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 3 for 3 from the line to finish with 16 points.

Christion Johnson led the way for the Griffins with seven points. Gwynedd Mercy also got six points from Dom Thomas and Aziz Parker.
