WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament Announced
The WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament has been announced for January with a new face as a co-host.
In a ground-breaking announcement at the O2 Arena in London, UK, Triple H would announce the first ever WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament. The tentative date for the event is on January 14 and 15, 2017. Just the like the much-praised Cruiserweight Classic, the tournament would be a WWE Network exclusive.

Retired pro-wrestler Nigel McGuinness has been announced as the co-host for the same. WWE confirmed the news via Twitter earlier today.

The company would also reveal the teaser image of the title also earlier today.

According to WWE.com, the tournament would be conducted over a period of two days in January 2017. It would be a 16-competitor tournament at Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom. Inaugural WWE Universal champion Finn Balor and NXT general manager William Regal as well as Nigel McGuinness. The 16 competitors would also take the center stage during the event.

Finn Balor addressed the fans and referred to the tournament as something that would supercharge the UK and Irish wrestling scene. As stated before, the event would be a WWE network exclusive. It is also confirmed that it would feature Michael Cole as the primary commentator.
NXT general manager William Regal would comment that the tournament would feature the best talent they could find. The latest WWE Network exclusive should be another great setup and probably pave way for more European stars to the WWE.
