WWE Suspends Paige 60 Days for Wellness Policy Violation

WWE has suspended Paige for 60 days for violating the company’s Wellness Policy.

Paige has been in WWE’s headlines for the past two months, but for all the wrong reasons. She got suspended in August by WWE for violating the company’s Wellness Policy. This kept her out for 30 days, but already while she was injured.

The day before, her public boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio, got suspended by WWE as well for violating the Wellness Policy. He would leave before the 30 days were up. Despite this, Paige remained with WWE.

Well, things have taken another turn for the worst for the British star as WWE announced that she has been suspended, again. It’s another Wellness Policy violation, which will cost her 60 days since it’s her second offense.

This is the latest blow to Paige’s WWE career, which seemed to be bright just two years ago. She was one of NXT’s hottest prospects, and got pushed the day she debuted. This saw her defeat AJ Lee for the WWE Divas Championship the night after WrestleMania 30. It led to a second title reign later that year, and a headlining spot in the division.

However, 2015 saw the two-time Divas Champion’s TV use begin to spiral downward. Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks’ call-ups took up air time for the division, leaving Paige off to the side. She had been the one to orchestrate this “Divas Revolution” in the first place with promos in the summer of 2015. Now, she’s on the outside looking in as Banks, Charlotte, and Lynch control the women’s division.

Paige’s WWE status may be in doubt, again. With her injuries and second suspension, could this make the company consider letting her go? There’s nothing to indicate this at the moment, but given what’s happened throughout 2016, it could be possible.
