WWE Rumors: Shane McMahon replacing Seth Rollins at WrestleMania?

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 2:18 a.m. ET

Should Seth Rollins not make it to WrestleMania, could Shane McMahon be a replacement to face Triple H?

PWInsider is reporting that Rollins has been pulled from all of this weekend’s live events, as he’s not been medically cleared to appear in the ring due to his knee injury he incurred on Monday Night Raw.

Currently, Rollins is in Birmingham, Alabama, getting his knee checked out and pursuing different medical avenues. There’s no word yet on whether Rollins will require surgery.

Shane McMahon has been pitched to replace Rollins in the match against Triple H, but so far, nothing has been confirmed for certain.

If McMahon does face off against Triple H, it would pick up an old storyline that has been otherwise left by the wayside. According to The Huffington Post‘s recent WWE rumors report, Shane McMahon and Triple H have been feuding against one another for a long time. Triple H, who is married to McMahon’s sister Stephanie, and Shane never got along. And, back in December, there was talk about the two of them settling the score.

But with these rumors about McMahon taking the place of Rollins against Triple H come the further accusations that Rollins’ injury is little more than elaborate kayfabe.

There were more than a few fans who thought that the injury that Samoa Joe inflicted on Seth Rollins during Monday Night Raw was, in fact, fake, especially when Samoa Joe tweeted to Triple H that he’d finished Rollins “as requested.”

However, other rumors suggested that Samoa Joe didn’t mean to hurt Rollins. Take a look at what a fan posted on Twitter right after the injury was announced.

Then, right after Samoa Joe sent that message to Triple H, he seemed to be apologetic about the fact that Rollins was really hurt. This suggests that while the fight was meant to be kayfabe, Rollins’ knee injury was very real.
