WWE Rumors: Roderick Strong to Debut in NXT, Team with Austin Aries

Roderick Strong may be joining WWE NXT very soon, and would be reforming an old tag team of his.

When Roderick Strong left Ring of Honor in the summer, speculation began on him joining WWE. It has mostly quiet since these rumors began, though.

However, it seems Strong may be showing up in NXT shortly. PW Insider is reporting that he’ll be debuting for the brand soon as Austin Aries’ tag team partner. They believe Strong signed with WWE and has been working at the WWE Performance Center. NXT announced on Monday that The Greatest Man That Ever Lived would be in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but with a mystery partner, and Mr. ROH had formerly been in a tag team with him last decade. They were ROH World Tag Team Champions in 2005, a reign that lasted 275 days.

This would be Strong’s WWE debut, as he had spent the past 13 years working mostly for ROH, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and a stint with TNA.

Strong and Aries would join a stacked Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic field, which has grown by the day. They are joining the following teams:

    The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will culminate at NXT TakeOver: Toronto on Saturday, November 19. This potential team of Aries and Strong could be one of the favorites, unless we see an early breakup between these friends.
