WWE Rumors: Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar Set for WWE Survivor Series
Are Brock Lesnar and Goldberg set to have their long-awaited rematch at this year’s WWE Survivor Series?
Brock Lesnar and Goldberg are two of the biggest superstars in the history of professional wrestling, and not just in a physical sense. They possess two of the most dominant track records ever seen in the business. Goldberg began his career in WCW with 173 straight wins while Brock Lesnar is and continues to be on his own tier in WWE.
That’s why it was so disappointing when the two of them faced off at WrestleMania 20 in 2004. Both men were slated to leave the company following the event, leading to a lack of passion from either man. That, and the match was just clunky and unsatisfying overall.
But it looks like a rematch may officially be in the works. According to Jim Ross on Twitter, Lesnar vs Goldberg II is likely to take place at this year’s Survivor Series.
Another source says that @Goldberg vs @BrockLesnar is a done deal and that it will likely go down at #SurvivorSeries. If true, bravo @wwe

This report carries extra weight since early on Tuesday, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Report that WWE was in advanced talks to bring Goldberg back, saying a deal may already be done.
Lesnar vs Goldberg has been speculated to take place for a while now. Goldberg was featured in a WWE 2K17 commercial that featured him riding in the back of a police car, and if you looked closely, you could see a reflection of a street sign in the window that said “Suplex City”. Goldberg reacted to that with a smirk. Ever since then, rumors have rightfully run rampant about a potential match between the two. And both Lesnar and Goldberg have willingly added fuel to the fire as they have traded verbal jabs several times in recent months.
Basically, this match seemed highly likely to go down at some point. What nobody expected, however, is that it would take place anywhere other than WrestleMania 33.
While Survivor Series is still technically one of WWE’s Big Four PPVs (although Money in the Bank might have something to say about that), it’s surprising WWE would book this kind of blockbuster for anything except Mania. Although Goldberg may not have as much in the tank as he used to, his name combined with Lesnar’s is sure to bring fanfare. Whether it lives up to the hype in the ring might be a different story.
So if Goldberg really is back, are you excited for his return? Or is he better left in the retirement home?
