WWE No Mercy 2016: The Miz's Title vs. Dolph Ziggler's Career Match Set

At WWE No Mercy, The Miz will put his Intercontinental Championship on the line, but with a twist.

The Miz and Dolph Ziggler seemed likely to face off at WWE No Mercy. They previously had two matches for the Intercontinental Championship, both of which the A-lister used his wife, Maryse as a distraction to win. There hadn’t been an official announcement before Tuesday’s show, though.

Well, on the September 27 episode of SmackDown, after being shredded by Miz in an in-ring promo segment, Ziggler got on the microphone. He gave a passionate promo on how he continues to come to work everyday, but gets beaten down every time (he’s lost every title opportunity since SummerSlam). It resulted in The Showoff challenging for one last Intercontinental Title match, but with a twist: he’s putting his career on the line for a chance at the belt.

After being stunned for a moment, Miz would accept the match.

Ziggler putting his career on the line came out of nowhere. There haven’t been reports on his contract status, so this may be a way of writing him off TV for a bit, if he loses.

However, the added stipulation will add drama to this match. It needed something to freshen the stakes with multiple bouts having happened between him and Miz. The latter has hit on all cylinders lately, and will go into No Mercy with momentum. He may even be favored to retain the title.

Miz vs. Ziggler will join AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena, Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss, and Beauty and The Man Beast vs. The Usos at WWE No Mercy. Are you looking forward to these matches?
