WWE No Mercy 2016: Rhyno and Heath Slater vs. Usos Set

On Tuesday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Rhyno and Heath Slater found out their opponents for No Mercy.

WWE No Mercy’s match card is steadily coming together. We got the main event announced one week ago, with AJ Styles defending the WWE World Championship against John Cena and Dean Ambrose. Becky Lynch will also look to retain her new SmackDown Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss.

On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, the new No. 1 Contender to the SmackDown Tag Team Title got determined. The Usos would battle the returning Chad Gable and Jason Jordan. The former had returned from a leg injury that sidelined him for a few weeks, which occurred after an attack from Jimmy and Jey.

After Gable reinjured his leg, Jordan got tasked with facing both Usos for a portion of the match. This would cost him after taking stereo superkicks, leading to the two-time WWE Tag Team Champions earning a shot at Heath Slater and Rhyno.

This is a rematch of the title match from Backlash, which saw Beauty and The Man Beast win the inaugural belts.

Given the heel push The Usos are receiving, they could be the favorites coming into this match. If they win, it would set up Gable and Jordan going after them. The already-built tension would be there, setting up a program that could go to Survivor Series in November.

Slater and Rhyno winning seemed like a heartfelt story. It worked for Backlash, and got The One Man Band a contract, but a one-month reign may be all that’s needed. Where these two would go next would be interesting, especially given Slater’s rising popularity.

Do you want to see The Usos win the belts at No Mercy? Or should Rhyno and Slater’s reign continue?
