It seemed like those weekly Darren Young-Bob Backlund promos would never end, but Young finally scored a major victory in the ring and earned himself a match at WWE Battleground later this month.
Monday's episode of Raw opened with a battle royal with a shot at The Miz's Intercontinental championship on the line, featuring the likes of Young, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio. Young survived the early eliminations and found himself in the right place at the right time when Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin toppled out of the ring together, handing Young the victory without him actually doing anything.
