WrestleMania 32 Picks and Predictions
WrestleMania 32 is always the biggest spectacle of the year for the WWE. The event this year, however, looks a lot different than the promotion expected.
Injuries have ravaged the main roster taking out several key stars, including John Cena and former heavyweight champ Seth Rollins, who would both be involved in major stories.
At the top of the card, much-maligned superstar Roman Reigns will look to conquer Triple H, who won the WWE heavyweight strap at the Royal Rumble back in January.
Reigns has been the anointed successor to become the face of the WWE for quite some time, but to say fans have been lukewarm in actually putting him on that pedestal would be a massive understatement.
Now, he'll headline his second straight WrestleMania as Reigns attempts to conquer "The Authority" and tackle an icon in Triple H, who was wrestling Sting on this same card a year ago.
Former executive Shane McMahon, 46, will get back in the ring for the first time since 2009 as he faces The Undertaker in a "Hell in a Cell" match. Both McMahon and The Undertaker are arguably past their primes, but that won't stop them from beating the hell out of each other in one of the most grueling matches in all of pro wrestling.
Brock Lesnar will also be in action in a "No-Holds Barred" street fight with Dean Ambrose in what promises to be a battle that will start in the ring and end up somewhere in the bowels of AT&T Stadium.
Here are our picks and predictions:
TRIPLE H vs. ROMAN REIGNS -- WWE Heavyweight Championship
Fans still struggle to root for Reigns but that probably won't stop the WWE from trying to put the title back around his waist. It's part of the reason why Reigns is the biggest favorite on the entire card according to odds-makers, who are betting on him walking out as champion.
Of course, because this is the main event, expect a lot of craziness to unfold -- particularly the chance that The Rock or someone else runs in to interfere with the outcome -- but chances are the result remains the same.
PREDICTION: Roman Reigns wins the title
BROCK LESNAR vs. DEAN AMBROSE â No-Holds Barred Street Fight
This is another match where anything can and probably will happen, including a load of weapons being used and possibly a few wrestlers getting involved by the time it's over. Considering Lesnar's star status with the WWE it's hard to imagine he'll "lose" at two WrestleManias in a row but Ambrose has been called the future of the company and what better way to put him at the top than with a win like this?
This is another key spot to watch for a run-in from some mystery person to interfere with Lesnar's victory, but chances are "The Beast" will eventually find a way to put Ambrose down and keep him there.
PREDICTION: Brock Lesnar
SHANE MCMAHON vs. THE UNDERTAKER -- Hell in a Cell Match
Age is only a number to McMahon, who looks to be in the best shape of his life as he prepares for his bout with The Undertaker. He showed off some serious athleticism on "RAW" Monday, when he leaped from the top rope all the way to the announce table and crashed through The Undertaker.
While it's been a lot of fun to see Shane-O-Mac back on WWE programming, it's hard to believe he'll put an end to The Undertaker. One of the stipulations is if McMahon wins,The Undertaker can no longer perform at WrestleMania. It's hard to believe WWE would finish "The Deadman" like that.
PREDICTION: The Undertaker
CHARLOTTE vs. SASHA BANKS vs. BECKY LYNCH -- WWE Divas Championship Match
Charlotte might come from a famous family with Ric Flair as her father, but there's little doubt that Sasha Banks is the heir apparent when it comes to women's wrestling royalty. Banks was a top performer in NXT and now she's one of the most popular women's superstars on the roster.
It's tough to see a way she doesn't leave WrestleMania 32 with the belt around her waist and there's a chance Banks could still be holding that title when the next event happens in 2017.
PREDICTION: Sasha Banks
KEVIN OWENS vs. SAMI ZAYN vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. SIN CARA vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. THE MIZ vs. STARDUST vs. ZACK RYDER
In a lot of ways this is an attempt to duplicate the crazy ladder match from WrestleMania last year, although unless something staggering happens, you can go ahead and eliminate about two-thirds of the competitors from having a shot.
It seems to come down to either Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn, who were longtime rivals in NXT. It's unfortunate Dolph Ziggler doesn't get a bigger push but he'll certainly make things fun in this match. Still, with all the titles that typically change hands at WrestleMania, this is one time I think the belt stays with the current owner.
PREDICTION: Kevin Owens
AJ STYLES vs. CHRIS JERICHO
Chris Jericho has been a part-time performer for the last few years, but rumors are he's going to stick around after WrestleMania is over. Still, it's hard to bet against AJ Styles, who has become one of the most-talked about additions to the WWE roster since he first appeared at The Royal Rumble.
A win at WrestleMania would be a great way for Styles to get in the spotlight.
PREDICTION: AJ Styles
The 3rd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale
Chances are this will be another incredible, fast Battle Royal with a lot of people coming in and going out in a hurry. There will probably be a few surprise names from NXT who make appearances but ultimately it's hard to say who all might end up in this match. Based on the people who have already declared themselves for the Battle Royale, it seems to come down to either Big Show or Kane.
PREDICTION: Kane but really it's anybody's guess
THE NEW DAY vs. THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS
The New Day has quickly become one of the funniest and most watchable parts of WWE programming every week while The League of Nations looks like a mish-mashed group of superstars who decided to team up one day.
No one has bought into The League of Nations since it started and chances are no one will remember them when this event is over, either.
PREDICTION: The New Day
THE USOS vs. THE DUDLEY BOYZ
It would be great if the WWE could drop the PG rating and allow The Dudley Boyz to return to the ultimate heels they once were in ECW but that probably won't happen any time soon, if again. Still, the WWE needs a good set of bad guys to invigorate the tag-team division and the Dudley Boyz are by far the best choice of anybody available on the roster today.
PREDICTION: The Dudley Boyz
THE TOTAL DIVAS vs. BAD & BLONDE
Not much to be said about this one other than, really?
PREDICTION: THE TOTAL DIVAS
KALISTO vs. RYBACK -- United States Championship Match
Kalisto is a fun, high-flying wrestler, who can be fun to watch at times. Ryback is a stiff, muscle bound brute, who occasionally hits his spots. So there's no telling what's going to happen here but titles change hands often at WrestleMania so why not one more?
PREDICTION: Ryback
