After returning to WWE Raw on October 17, will Goldberg be seen for a second consecutive week?
On the October 17 episode of WWE Raw, Goldberg returned after being away for 12 years. He had been challenged to a match by Paul Heyman, the advocate for Brock Lesnar. While a time and date did not get set for this encounter, Goldberg accepted the offer to face Lesnar.
Goldberg vs. Lesnar will be a rematch from WrestleMania XX in 2004. This also happens to be the former WCW star’s first wrestling match since. He has mostly avoided the business over the past 12 years, and at one point seemed like he wouldn’t compete in the ring again.
However, the involvement with WWE 2K17 seemingly changed everything. It rekindled his relationship with WWE as he did promotional work with them for months. Then, the interview on ESPN pushed things forward to the last step before the match challenge got accepted.
We’re now heading into the October 24 episode of Raw, though. Fans may be wondering if Goldberg will show up to continue to promote his impending match with The Beast Incarnate. Based on who WWE is advertising for the event, though, he will not be appearing. Instead, Lesnar and Heyman are set to address what happened last Monday.
It’s possible Heyman and Lesnar could set a time and date for this match, potentially WWE Survivor Series. This will take place on Sunday, November 20. With all the Elimination matches being set for the show, it may open up the main event for Goldberg and Lesnar to have their rematch. This may then get accepted in the following week, as the former could be appearing on the October 31 episode of Raw.
Monday’s episode of Raw should be intriguing, even without Goldberg. He’ll be around in one week, though, to get things going for his eventual return match.
